Please read this before using Redact PDF on any confidential document. In its current state, this tool does not identify or target the specific text you want removed, and it does not delete the underlying content — it is not yet safe to use for preparing a document that contains information you need to keep hidden before sharing it.
What to do instead, for now
If you need to genuinely remove sensitive information from a PDF before sharing it — names, account numbers, case details, medical information, anything confidential — use dedicated redaction software that actually deletes the underlying text and image data, not just a visual overlay. Simply drawing a black box over content in a PDF viewer, without deleting the data underneath, is a well-known way sensitive information has leaked in real-world documents when the box was later removed or the text underneath was still selectable.
