Please read this before using Protect PDF for a confidential document. The tool currently accepts a password from you but does not apply real encryption to the downloaded file — the password you set is not enforced, and anyone with the file can open it without it.
What to do instead, for now
If you need a document that genuinely requires a password to open, use your operating system's or a trusted desktop application's built-in PDF password protection until this is fixed here. Do not rely on this tool to restrict access to sensitive or confidential material in its current state.
